Overview<\/h2>\n

The University of Moh\u00e9li (Universit\u00e9 de Moh\u00e9li) is one of the three public universities in the Comoros, located on the island of Moh\u00e9li, the smallest and least developed of the three main islands. Established to decentralize higher education and support regional development, the university has built a clear academic focus around Moh\u00e9li’s environmental priorities, including fields like environmental science, sustainable agriculture, and marine biology, all shaped by the island\u2019s UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve.<\/p>\n

With a strong emphasis on local challenges such as climate resilience and food security, the university works with international research institutions and NGOs to strengthen teaching and field-based learning. Even though the campus is small, it plays an important role for Moh\u00e9lian students by reducing the need to relocate to Moroni or study abroad. You also tend to get a more personal academic experience because classes are smaller and students can access staff more easily.<\/p>\n
