Overview<\/h2>\n

Njala University is a rural public research university in Sierra Leone that became an autonomous institution in 2005 under the University Act, building on earlier teaching that began in 1964 as Njala University College (affiliated with Fourah Bay College). Today, it is one of the country\u2019s most important centers for teaching and applied research, with a student population of about 25,000 across its main campuses in Njala (Moyamba District) and Bo, plus additional activity in Freetown.
