Overview
The University of Cyprus (UCY) is the oldest and largest public university in Cyprus, established in 1989 in Nicosia. As the island’s flagship higher education institution, UCY has developed into a research-focused university with strong international collaborations and a growing portfolio of programs delivered in English alongside its Greek and Turkish language offerings.
UCY’s modern campus in the suburb of Aglantzia brings together its eight faculties and research units, supported by specialized labs and research infrastructure. The university is especially known for strengths in Mediterranean studies, archaeology, computer science, and renewable energy. With roughly 7,000 students, UCY maintains a favorable learning environment while serving a diverse student community from Cyprus and abroad.
