Overview
Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is Malawi’s premier institution for agriculture-focused education and research, established in 2011 through the merger of Bunda College and the Natural Resources College. Based in the capital region, LUANAR supports the country’s agricultural sector through teaching, applied research, and community outreach. The university is especially known for sustainable agriculture, agribusiness, environmental management, and food security – priority themes for Malawi’s economy and rural livelihoods. With its main campus at Bunda and a second campus at NRC, LUANAR combines academic instruction with practical field training to help graduates tackle real agricultural challenges.
