Overview

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is Kenya’s premier institution for agricultural and technological education. Established in 1981 as a middle-level college, it gained full university status in 1994. Named after Kenya’s first president, JKUAT has grown into a comprehensive university with particular strengths in agriculture, engineering, technology, and applied sciences.

The university’s main campus in Juja, about 36 kilometers northeast of Nairobi, spans 1,200 acres of farmland and modern facilities. JKUAT plays a crucial role in Kenya’s development through its focus on practical, industry-relevant training and research.
