Overview
Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadruddin Aini (TSPU) is the first and one of the largest teacher training institutions in Tajikistan. Founded in 1931 in Dushanbe as the Stalinabad Pedagogical Institute, it achieved university status post-independence and adopted its current name in honor of national poet Sadruddin Aini. Over the years, it has grown into a key center of education, science, and culture, training thousands of educators and specialists across a broad range of fields
Currently, TSPU enrolls around 8,000–11,000 students and employs over 585 faculty members, including more than 30 Doctors of Science and 125 candidates of science. The university organizes its teaching activities through approximately 11 faculties covering disciplines such as pedagogy, philology, foreign languages, history, mathematics, psychology, political science, and physical education It also hosts robust postgraduate and doctoral programs, supported by in-house dissertation councils in fields like pedagogy and philology
