Overview
Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU) is Uruguay’s oldest private and Jesuit-inspired university, officially founded in 1985 as the successor to institutions dating back to the 19th century. Located in Montevideo, with branch campuses in Punta del Este and Salto, it enrolls over 10,000 students across undergraduate and postgraduate programmers. UCU is known for its personalized and student-centered teaching approach, strong international exchange links with over 300 universities worldwide, and accredited business school (AACSB, AMBA, BGA). It offers programs in fields including health sciences, engineering, business, law, humanities and social sciences. While tuition is relatively high for private institutions in Uruguay, UCU provides substantial scholarship opportunities and flexible monthly payment plans.
