Overview

Universidad Central del Ecuador (UCE) is Ecuador’s oldest and most prestigious public university, founded in 1826 during the early years of the republic. As the nation’s flagship higher education institution, UCE has played a pivotal role in Ecuador’s intellectual and political development. The university’s historic main campus in Quito houses 18 faculties offering over 80 undergraduate and graduate programs to approximately 40,000 students.
