Overview

Universidade Save (UniSave) is a public university established in 2012 in southern Mozambique, serving the Sofala and Inhambane provinces. Named after the Save River that marks the regional border, the university focuses on addressing southern Mozambique’s development needs through programs in agriculture, education, and coastal resource management. With campuses in Maxixe and Vilanculos, UniSave plays a vital role in training professionals for Mozambique’s southern coastal region.

The university combines academic excellence with practical, community-based learning, particularly in marine sciences, tropical agriculture, and teacher education. As a bilingual institution (Portuguese and English), UniSave attracts students from across southern Mozambique while maintaining partnerships with regional research centers and international universities.
