Kyambogo University

Overview

Kyambogo University, established in 2003 through the merger of three institutions, is one of Uganda’s largest public universities located on Kyambogo Hill in Kampala, approximately 8 km east of the city center. Serving over 33,000 students, it comprises six faculties, six schools, and an institute offering a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational, and distance education programmers in fields such as engineering, science, agriculture, special needs, education, business, arts, social sciences, computing, and built environment

Kyambogo is recognized for its strong practical orientation, with emphasis on hands-on learning, research, and community service. It hosts the Faculty of Special Needs & Rehabilitation—unique in the region—and excels in innovation through its engineering and vocational programmer.
