Overview

Gulu University is a public university in Northern Uganda established by parliamentary act in 2001 and opened to students in September 2002. Based in Gulu City—about 350 km north of Kampala—it focuses on community transformation and rural development through education, research, and innovation. Today, the university has expanded beyond the main campus with additional campuses in Kitgum and Hoima, offering multidisciplinary programs aligned with regional priorities in health, agriculture, education, and technology.
