Mbarara University of Science & Technology (MUST), established in 1989, is Uganda’s second public university and a key center for science and technology education. It began with a small cohort in the Faculty of Medicine and has since expanded to include faculties of Science, Applied Science & Technology, Computing & Informatics, Business & Management Sciences, Interdisciplinary Studies, and the Institute of Tropical Forest Conserval

Located in Mbarara city and its suburb Kihumuro (on a 139‑hectare campus), MUST emphasizes hands‑on learning and community engagement.
